Do You Put The Lights On The Tree First

We have a neighbor that beautifully wraps several trees in her yard each year for christmas.

Do you put the lights on the tree first.

So i think it should go 1. This light will shine on the star angel or snowflake that you will add later. Secure your light strands by weaving them in an out of the tree s branches.
